Minister Jam Kamal Khan said the government is focused on helping the Pakistan gems industry and jewelry sector. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also had several meetings to find ways to improve the industry.
Listening to Businesses
The Minister stressed that it’s important to listen to businesses in the industry. The government wants to create plans that match what businesses really need.
Fixing Rules
Council Chairman Salman Hanif said that certain rules, like changes to SRO 760, are making it hard for the industry to grow. He suggested making these rules simpler so the industry can reach its goals.
Making a Plan
Minister Jam Kamal promised to consider the council’s ideas. He said the government will create a plan that covers everything from mining to selling jewelry. This plan will include input from businesses.
Encouraging Investment
The Minister also mentioned that the government wants to make private investors feel more confident about investing in the industry. This will help boost business and exports.
Changing Banking and Rules
The council talked about the need to change banking systems and regulations. Minister Jam Kamal asked the council to provide a plan to fix these issues so they can present it to the Prime Minister.
