Gold prices went up on Friday both in local and international markets. In Pakistan, the price of gold per tola was Rs250,700 after increasing by Rs500 in just one day. The price of 10 grams of gold was Rs214,935 after adding Rs429, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On the previous day, Thursday, the price of gold per tola was Rs250,200.
This month, the price of gold has been going up a lot because of tensions in the Middle East and because central banks are buying more gold as a safe investment.
Internationally, the price of gold went up on Friday too. It was set at $2,400 per ounce, with an extra $20 added as a premium, after going up by $5 during the day.
At the same time, the price of silver stayed the same at Rs2,780 per tola.
